TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Material used:

Tecnimetal 3001 polyamide, without: halogen, silicon, lead, cadmium, formaldehyde.

All Tecnimetal models have been quality tested in the food industry.

Self-extinguishing in compliance with EEC standards.

Resistant to external elements: humidity, rain, sun, UV rays

However all Tecnimetal plastic cable carriers cannot be used in the presence of the following chemical substances: formic acid, lactic acid, ammonia, hydrochloride acid, chlorine, tartaric acid, chromic acid, acetic acid.

In these cases, the use of stainless steel cable carriers is recommended.

CONSTRUCTION CHARAKTERISTICS

SPEED + ACCELERATION

In working conditions of “self-bearing length”, Tecnimetal standard cable carriers programme can reach stroke speeds above 10 m/s and accelerations above 20 m/s2.

Cable lengths, stroke lengths and cycle frequency are determining parameters for reaching maximum stroke speeds.

WORKING LIFE

The excellent quality of the material used and the technical and dimensional innovations introduced are a guarantee of longer working life for Tecnimetal cable carriers. The material used makes it possible to use the cable carriers in the most varied working conditions, such as:

  • Open-air installations or in environments with temperatures from –40°C to +130°C.
  • Installations in dirty/dusty environments with high friction resistance thanks to their special design.
  • Installations in contact with chemical agents.
  • Installations involving strong mechanical stress such as strain, bending and pressure factors.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS

To choose the most suitable cable carrier, the following elements should be taken into consideration:

  • The number and diameter of the cables to lay.
  • The weight of the cables per meter.
  • The “self-bearing” length.
  • The cable bending radius to determine the carrier bending radius.

Before laying the cables into the carrier, unwind them from the coils or bundles, paying attention not to twist the conductors.

Leave cables in horizontal resting position for at least 24-48 hours. Lay the cables straight, one by one and side by side so that they can settle and move freely inside the carrier, where about 10% of the space should be kept as reserve. Follow the bending radius without obstacles and avoid applying any tensile strength. 

For the cable carrier to operate correctly, avoid laying the cables on one another or in a confused way with different sections or excessive diameters. If the cables have different sections or units to pipes (air, gas, fluids), they must be divided by means of dividers. The weight of the cables inside the carrier must be distributed as evenly and symmetrically as possible (large cables in the middle and small cables outwards). For the cable carrier to operate correctly, it must lie on a flat and uniform surface. If this conditions is not possible, guide channels must be installed to support the cable carriers. Such condition applies to parts of the cable carrier that exceed the “self-bearing” length.

Once inserted, the cables must be fixed at both ends of the cable carrier to eliminate strain.
